My wife and I attended the Raccoon Creek D.O.G. held at Raccoon Creek State Park and sponsored by Three Rivers Dutch Ovens. We had a grand time meeting new people, making new friends, swapping recipes, and of course cooking and eating.

The day started off cloudy and cool and didn't get much above the mid 50's. Getting the main dining fly put up without instructions was a great example of people just working together.

Our set-up ready to go. Then I realized I forgot a firepan for the charcoal chimney. Had to improvise.

The sign was a gift from Doug Gonner (aka ffdoug). It was quite popular.

This is the ham being cooked by the DOG host, Leonard Skultety. It was nummy.

I took a crack at my sister-in-laws Rumaki. It turned out Okay, but still needs a little tweaking.

Lining them up for the pot luck dinner. There were three picnic tables lined up. Leonard was at the end carving up the ham.

Door prizes plus a 50/50! Everybody got something.

It was a beautiful park with something for everyone. It was less than two hours for us. We plan to return to take advantage of what this park has to offer.

They had about 50 registered with most of them cooking. This was the 3rd year for this event.
