I am joining John and Shirley from CCDOA Chapter of IDOS and we're giving a DO demo. If you're in the area, stop on by and say "howdy!" No samples officially. Wink
This will be my first experience with giving a demo so wish me luck!

Well, it was a lot of fun and a lot of work. Laughing We had a nice spot under the oak trees, so we were in filtered shade all day. Lots of people! We had a lot of people come by sniffing and drooling! I made Forever Chicken that's in the Texas Treasury of Dutch Oven Cooking cookbook. Also made a batch of Blodgett Canyon Baked Beans as posted here by Lonnie Gillette. Yum-O! Those are good beans! Finished off with a peach dump cake. That sweet cinnamon-y smell does it every time! Laughing

John and Shirley got it started with Shirley baking cinnamon pull-aparts in a bundt pan. That was followed by John's pinto beans-n-bacon and a huge pork roast, chile verde style. Shirley wowed them again by making a pizza. People are always so surprised and amazed that you can make pizza while out camping! Laughing Of course, I was too, when I first read about it here on C-C. Laughing

The high school culinary class wound up selling over 250 dinners! When I checked in at 9:30 am, the lady I was talking to told me that they had 65 dinners pre-ordered. Big jump in numbers! Glad to see the students pulled it off and quite successfully, I hear!

I took my camera, but didn't snap a single shot! I should be flogged! Maybe next year...

Congratulations on the successful demo! I really enjoy doing the demos even though they are a lot of work.

It's sort of funny, we do the Boy Scout Expo here in Vegas and now people are starting to look forward to us being there 'cause they know we'll be serving up some good grub. (The turkey dinner we do afterward isn't bad either!).
