Well, at least its odd to me. Take a look at this short video and tell me if you recognize the second lifter she demonstrates. I know I haven't been around a lot, but I have never seen one anything like it.

It's called a Volcano Outdoors 30-020 Lid Lifter and holder. Looks like it has been discontinued, but a few stores still have a couple in stock.

You could try Happy Camper In twin Falls Idaho Or Log Cabin Grub They may have one or could find you one.
