Hi, my name is John. I am 55 years old and new to camp dutch ovens but not cast iron or household dutch ovens. I am a avid outdoor cook with a Lodge sportsman grill, a mini WSM, and 2 Lodge dutch ovens, a 12" 8 quart and a 10" 4 quart. My lifestyle has changed the last year and i need some tips mostly with the smaller DO. I enjoy learning new skills and cooking for friends, i find cooking to be very social. I was a machinist most of my life and am kind of a technical cook. I look forward to talking with you all.

HI John - Welcome from your neighbor to the north.

Scan the forum, ask a lot of questions and we are all happy to share our experiences.
