We had a Michiganian friend down to Tennessee for a few days, so I whipped up my Burgoo on the firepit. I added a few Michigan-specific ingredients and entered the video in a Regional Burgoo Challenge on You Tube.

I actually wanted to put more stuff in there, but ran out of room. That DO is 7 quarts, and 7 adults and one 8 year old almost ate it all in one meal, it was so good. The next day I took the leftovers and added a pound of pulled pork BBQ from the store, another can each of green beans, corn, pinto beans, and diced tomatoes, and 8 adults finished that off.

Burgoo would be a great thing to make ahead of time, freeze it, and take it along when running the hounds. Warm it up on a camp stove on the tailgate of the truck out in the woods. Serve with corn bread.

That would be a good thing to try. Something different from the usual chili. Thumbs Up
