Does anyone know of or have an interest in having a dutch oven gathering in north Georgia? Seems like this fall would be a great time to have one. What all is involved in putting one together?

Chris,

If you can attend a DOG, it's always a lot of fun and would give you some ideas on how to do your own. If not then just invite a few DO cooks you know to a local park one afternoon. That's how we had our first few gatherings. At our last gathering we had something like 25 people attend. It was a lot of fun seeing a nice crowd.

Chris there's a contest at the Booth Western Art Museum at Cartersville in the spring I think. I never have been to it but I hear it's pretty good.

I know this is an old post, but just wanted to say that the Booth Museum is a great place to visit, and the folks participating in the chuck wagon cookoffs are great! The chuck wagons looked great, and folks dressed in period appropriate attire. Had some really good chili there the last time I went. The music was a lot of fun as well.

If you are ever in the neighborhood, it's worth a visit.
