I couldn't resist any longer, wife wanted waffles this morning, so I made a batter and cooked her up some. She didn't try the PB, but I did. Yup that is a do-er.
I did cheat and use a pre mixed pancake mix, but added some flovorings.
I added 1 tsp Vanila Extract
and 1 tsp Almond extract.
They had a great flavor to them.
While we were eating them I thought of a different flavoring.......@&() oh breaking up will have to try later _________________ OP

Cliff, if you really want to make waffles with cast iron, but can't seem to nail down one of the older style, go to
www.pieiron.com
They have some, I have a set and use it every time I make waffles. In fact made waffles this morning. They are made in china, and they are not the greatest quality. They work well though. 7" in diameter.
I still haven't attempted to clean up the set that I bought this spring, I am scared to damage them. I know I;m a coward!

Those waffle irons look interesting. It looks like they don't come with a base. Do you just hang on to them til the waffle is done? _________________ God Bless,

Put them on burner of stove, or grate over fire. Haven't done over fire yet. Mine turn out great, after some practice.
They take 1/3 cup of batter per waffle. I made 7 waffles this morning and only sprayed once. Good seasoning I guess. _________________ OP
